NTVU held the Spring Festival group meeting for overseas Students in 2020

On the afternoon of January 18 (The 24th of December), our school held the 2020 Foreign Students' Spring Festival Group meeting in the staff canteen. School leaders and more than 40 international students from Namibia, Angola and Nigeria gathered together happily to welcome the arrival of the Year of the Rat.

The "Chinese Year" cultural experience activity was held before the group meeting. Overseas students have pasted spring couplets on their dormitory doors. Chen Xia, a teacher from the School of Art and Design, led the students to learn how to make "Chinese knot". Chen introduced the meaning of "Chinese knot", a traditional Chinese handicraft, and taught on the spot. Under the guidance of the teacher, the overseas students took up the red ropes and made Chinese knots, which symbolize happiness and reunion, to set off the atmosphere of the festival.

At the meeting, Qiang Yi, secretary of the University Party Committee, extended New Year greetings to the students and wished them success in their studies and a bridge of friendship between China and Africa. Chen Mansheng, deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the University, and Dai Shiming, vice President of the University presented New Year gifts with Nantong characteristics to the students. The representative of international students Benjamin spoke, expressed the heartfelt thanks to the leaders and teachers of Nantong Vocational College, and on behalf of everyone to send New Year wishes.

Afterwards, the students hosted and performed the program, and expressed their expectation and joy for the coming of the Year of the Rat by singing, reciting, dancing and other forms. The staff dining room is warm and lively. There were a variety of dishes, including traditional Chinese spring Rolls, lotus root cakes, beef and chicken chops for international students. The students were holding trays of delicious food and chatting happily with happy smiles on their faces.

Through the group worship activities to welcome the Chinese New Year, the overseas students feel the strong flavor of the Chinese New Year, and they also feel the warmth of a home in China.

Party and government office, publicity Department, School of International Cooperation and Education and logistics office staff attended the meeting.
